Essay Writing

My consultant told me to apply for EMORY.
The problem is that... even after this much of study, and this much of research, when it comes to applying or writing essay, each essay looks a new one. Of course, now, after this much of study and research, I have got better idea as how to position myself. But still, writing essay is a challenging task. Few of the things a person should take care while writing essays:
1) Consistency: Adcom are willing to admit people with whom they don't have to work hard in placing themselves. They don't want someone who is switching career or has not performed till now. So essays should be written with this attitude that MBA is something which would be good to happen, if it happens, but one is not dying for that. Do you know, as why all the colleges ask for 3-4 essays? First thing they want to know, as whether the essays are consistent with each other or not. For example, if you show interest in IT in one essay and in the second one you show your inclination for Entrepreneurship, then it would be a negative essay. Though both the essays would be good individually, but in total they would negate the good effect. So, be consistent in the thought process in all the essays. It does not mean that we should repeat the incidents, but the overall picture should be somewhat.. This is the perfect time for you to do MBA, and it would be mutually beneficial to the college as well as yourself. Keep in mind, you are paying close to 40 lakhs for that. So, they also need you as well as you need them. So, don't be under any obligation.

2) Repititive: Again, i am saying what everyone said. Our essay should be captivating. If you wrote in such a way that the adcom go through your complete essay, then you have won the first battle. It should not be run of the mill kind of essay. Also, same kind of event should not be referred to again and again. This just shows that you don't have enough thing in your life.

3) Keep in mind... a good essay must go at least 4 iterations. So, write it and give it to your friends. They will come with their feedback. If you are taking professional help, then nothing can be better than this. And... remember... All the good things are difficult to get. Keep striving. Definitely you will get through.
